The Community Services Clearinghouse Guild is hosting the First Annual True Grit Ride 100, 7:00 am, Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Ben Geren Park in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

The ride offers a non-competitive cycling tour for individuals of all abilities, including a 10 mile family fun ride, 35, 50 and 100 mile routes. Riders can expect a “goodie bag” at registration, fully stocked pit-stops and aid stations along the route roughly 10 miles apart and a small cook-out at the finish line.

The True Grit Bike Ride is exciting because it is a large fundraiser to support the Community Services Clearinghouse. The Clearinghouse is a well-established, non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance to families and children in need throughout seven counties in Arkansas and Oklahoma. The most well-known program the Clearinghouse offers is the Meals for Kids backpack program, which distributes over 2,500 sacks of weekend food each Friday to children who otherwise would go hungry before returning to class on Monday.

The ride is open to local, state and national participants. We have Charter Memberships available for $200 for the first 100 interested riders. We hope support of the event will be large and we can unite in becoming “Out-Spokin for others!
