Full mOOn 50K/25K @ Camp Ouachita
Jul 20 @ 7:00 pm – Jul 21 @ 4:00 am
Full mOOn 50K/25K @ Camp Ouachita | Paron | Arkansas | United States

Full mOOn 50K is the Ultra Trail Series season kickoff race and a celebration event honoring birthdays of favorite AURA Queens.

The race is great for first-time trail and ultra runners, pavement pounders and PRs! The out-and-back course is set on rolling Forest Service Roads.
The run starts at Camp Ouachita Girl Scout Camp in the Ouachita National Forest. There are restrooms on site and showers at the campground nearby we have paid for your use. So plan to stick around for the after-party. This year, we’re serving breakfast just like the old days. But we’ll still have the regular goods and super cold watermelon for sure!

Bring your running family and friends. Spectators are welcome and will probably be recruited to volunteer! (See our volunteer page for opportunities). Please carpool if you can! Parking is limited to the west side of Highway 324. NO PARKING ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE ROAD. (The side closest to the camp is off limits.) NO EXCEPTIONS. The Forest Service is very serious about this and will ticket and/or tow your vehicle. Follow parking directors as you pull in. There is no fee for parking unless you decide to park on the wrong side of the road – the ticket is $240.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome at the party and for the run. They’ll need to wear something reflective and probably be able to run with you off leash (leash in the dark is a tripping hazard for inbound runners). Email the race director for more information.

Expect heat, humidity & darkness. Bring a headlamp, salt and a 20 oz + water bottle. Bug Spray — Good idea!

Crystal Bridges Endurance – 50 Mile Gravel Grinder
Aug 3 @ 8:00 am – 3:00 pm
Crystal Bridges Endurance - 50 Mile Gravel Grinder @ Siloam Springs | Arkansas | United States

Crystal Bridges Endurance invites you to experience some of the best gravel in Western Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma.  This brand new race starts in the beautiful downtown of Siloam Springs, AR. Racers will be led out of town and unleashed onto 50-60 miles of hard-packed, fast-rolling gravel backroads.  This route takes you over the Illinois River and several creeks, along scenic farms and historic buildings. The rolling hills give you plenty of time to warm up for the grueling but rewarding climbs that signify the last few miles of the race.

There will be a convenience store at the halfway stop with snacks for purchase, free water-refill station, and restrooms. Riders are expected to be self-sufficient. This means you are responsible for carrying all your supplies you will need including water, food, tools, spare tubes, etc.  We will provide a limited amount of sag support but that does not preclude you from taking care of yourself out on the course. If you are not comfortable supporting yourself for 50+ miles, please consider shortening your ride distance and note our bail-out points.

The full race route will be released on July 28th.  Until then, follow Crystal Bridges Endurance on Instagram and Facebook to see “teaser pics” taken along the route.

This race is a part of the Crystal Bridges Endurance Series.

Arkansas Enduro Series - Red Star, Arkansas @ Red Star School

Red Star, Ark.

The Upper Buffalo Mountain Bike Trail offers about 40 miles of singletrack surrounding the highest point in the Ozark Mountains. This gem of a Midwest ride laces through the headwaters of the Buffalo National River on a mixture of narrow, hand-built singletrack and machine-cut flow trails. Features some of the best experiences available – stunning scenery past steep cliffs, turquoise waterfalls, abundant wildlife and old-growth hardwood forests.

WHAT IS ENDURO?

Enduro racing combines many aspects of mountain bike disciplines- endurance of cross country, technical features of downhill, and requires adaptability to varying terrain. In a cross-country race, riders compete in a group for fastest overall time on a course with terrain most suitable for a hardtail or short travel bike. A downhill race is a solo run on a downhill only trail with extreme rock features and jumps. Enduro racing combines elements of both disciplines to offer a course that is both technically challenging but also requires pedaling endurance. The timing method is unique as well. Riders are timed primarily on the downhills that offer, diverse segments over several stages throughout the course.

Ferncliff Scorchin’ Squirrel-a-Thon @ Ferncliff
Aug 10 @ 7:00 am – 2:00 pm
Ferncliff Scorchin' Squirrel-a-Thon @ Ferncliff | Little Rock | Arkansas | United States

When: 8.10.19 7:00 am-1 pm. $20 online and $25 the day of the race. Kids 8 and under are free! 5k and 1 mile fun run = $15

What: The Scorching’ Squirrel-A-Thon is a trail race that zig zags back and forth through Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center’s 1200 acres located just 10 miles west of Little Rock. There is a 1 mile fun run and 5k option, a 10 mile loop option, and a 20 mile option that repeats the 10 mile loop. The 2 longer options have aid stations that you pass through several times. One is a manned or womaned station at miles 5, 9, 14, and 19. The other is unmanned water station at miles (7 and 17). There will be refreshments at the end with a cook out at the pool. Please bring stuff to share although Fleet Feet and Ferncliff will provide burgers and hot dogs. No glass containers please. No pets. This is a great race for heat training and for trying out trail running with the shorter distances. There is quite a bit of incline throughout the course and in true squirrel fashion there is some darting back and forth. Along the course is an optional 120 foot enclosed slide!

All the distances end back at the start of the race, which is at the Ferncliff pool pavilion. The pool will be open after the race. It has a large covered pavilion and runners can cool off and enjoy some food and refreshments. There are lots of changing stalls.

All paid registrations before 7.21.18 receive a t shirt on race day. Any proceeds from the event will support Ferncliff Camp and Conference Center. Watermelon Festival 5K

The race starts on the eastern edge of Hope’s Fair Park. After less than a tenth of a mile the route turns right onto 6th Street. Runners will encounter some gradual uphill on 6th St totaling a 30 foot rise. The race then turns right onto Main Street where runners will soon pass the one mile marker.

Runners continue along Main St rewarded with a small gradual downhill until near the 1.5 mile point. Main St then moves gradually back uphill and the race route continues this gradual incline after making a right turn onto 16th street until just before the 2 mile marker.

At this point the course is gradually downhill until after the turn onto Grady Street, where the route levels off. The now weary runners will take Grady north to 7th Street where a left turn is made. The route angles to the southwest onto Park Dr. The road then turns back due west for the final straightaway. It is now time for the runners to begin their finishing kicks as the 3 mile marker and the finish line back in Fair Park are finally in sight!
