DESCRIPTION

Two triathlon distances (international and sprint), plus an aquabike category for individuals and a team category for the international distance all of which are held at Lake Wedington Recreation Park. New in 2019…a sprint-distance duathlon.

The park is located 13 miles west of Fayetteville and is one of the most natural settings for a triathlon in the region. Both spectators and participants can enjoy the natural beauty of the area and combined with unique finisher medals, post-race food, awards and prizes all make this race one that people do not want to miss.

WHAT ARE THE COURSES LIKE ?

  • Sprint Triathlon – 400 yard swim, 13 mile bike, 2 mile run
  • International Triathlon – 1,000 yard swim, 19 mile bike and a 4 mile run
  • Aquabike – 1,000 yard swim, 19 mile bike
  • Sprint Duathlon – 2 mile run, 13 mile bike, 2 mile run

The swim takes place in Wedington Lake, the bike courses are on paved roads outside the park and both runs are held on a two-loop course inside the park on paved roads. The sprint distance run courses do not go up the infamous “hill from hell”!

Kessler Mountain Regional Park / Old Smokehouse, Fayetteville, AR

 

The Kessler Trail Run is a community event organized by the Fayetteville Natural Heritage Association (FNHA) and partners to support land conservation efforts in and around Fayetteville, Arkansas. This self-timed 10K and 20K trail run will begin at 9 am at Kessler Mountain Regional Park, located at 2600 Judge Cummings Road in Fayetteville. The after-party will take place starting at 10:30 am at the Ozark Mountain Smokehouse, located at 1725 Smoke House Trail in Fayetteville. Upon finishing, runners will receive a limited-edition 2019 Kessler Trail Run pint glass and a ticket to enjoy food from local vendors and craft beer from area breweries. An after-party only option is also available for those that are interested in supporting FNHA’s conservation efforts without running the course. DeGray Lake Duathlon, Aquabike, Open Water Swim @ Degray Lake Spillway Area

One of the original multisport festivals in Arkansas…the 2020 DeGray Lake Triathlon will feature three triathlon distances (olympic, sprint and super sprint), a duathlon (sprint), aquabike (olympic) and an open water swim (olympic). There will be a team category for the olympic triathlon.

DeGray Lake is a reservoir on the Caddo River in Arkansas. This beautiful lake and surrounding Ouachita mountains near Hot Springs and Little Rock is an Arkansas resort state park.

Olympic Triathlon: 1,500 meter swim, 42 kilometer bike, 10 kilometer run.  Individuals and teams.
Sprint Triathlon: 500 yard swim, 13.5 mile bike, 5K run.  Individuals only
Super Sprint Triathlon: 225 yard swim, 6 mile bike, 2 mile run.  Individuals only
Sprint Duathlon: Run 1: 2 miles, Bike: 13.5 miles  Run 2:  3.1 miles
Aquabike (swim and bike only): 1,500 meter swim, 42 kilometer bike.  Individuals only
Open Water Swim: 1,500 meter swim

2.5 miles North on Hwy 7 from Interstate 30, exit 78.  Turn left onto Skyline Drive.
Spillway Trail Head (The Spillway Dam Area) is rougly 8/10ths of a mile west of the intersection of Skyline Dr and Hwy 7.

Entry Fees Priced With A T-Shirt
Entry Fees are priced with a ringspun cotton t-shirt , but a participant has the option to select no t-shirt and SAVE $5 or upgrade fabric to a full sublimated technical wicking fabric shirt for $15. Shirt size not guaranteed after April 15. If a shirt is ordered and the size is not available then a refund will be issued at packet pickup.

PACKET PICKUP / ONSITE REGISTRATION

All participants MUST pick up their own packets.  No one else may pick up an athlete’s packet.
Both a valid PHOTO ID and a current USAT MEMBERSHIP license are required.
NOTE: cell phone and internet connectivity may be spotty please either bring a hard copy of USAT membership or take a screenshot on your phone before leaving home.
