A beautifully evil bikepacking route in the south.
Averaging 110 feet of elevation gain/loss per mile, riders are either buckling up for a rowdy descent or gritting teeth for a torturous climb. The loop consists of 85% gravel and 15% pavement with surface types ranging from hardpacked gravel to unmaintained OHV trails. Creek crossings, cutty connectors, and a few Arkansas High Country classics—this route has it all. It’s 376 miles with a whopping 41,375 feet of elevation gain. The resupply run-outs are huge and cell service is mostly nonexistent.
Route File and overview can be found at https://www.ozarkgravelcyclists.com/doom. Emails will be sent out to registered participants as the race date approaches concerning the beta, pre-race meeting, parking, etc.
Please note that the route is subject to change due to the potential for flooding. Any problematic spots will be scouted out the week leading up to the Grand Depart.
Entry fee includes SPOT tracker registration, a Gremlin Bell, a professional photographer on the course, and an Event Director with a pickup truck ready to bail your ass out of the forest if you scratch. If you need to rent a tracker that responsibility is on you but we’ll still cover the registration fee for Trackleaders.
Refunds will be available through April 13th.
SPOT registration will occur after event registration closes.
