The Ride Series Intermediate MTB Skills Clinic

Building on all of the elements of The Ride Series MTB Skills Clinic, this Intermediate session will usher in the next level of skill and technique development.

Both Rob and Rich will provide in-depth knowledge while covering the following topics:

– Trail Vision: How to see ALL of the trails. A deep explanation of corner setup and how “being early” can make all the difference. Riders will work through a series of turning drills, each providing a different element to focus on. Finally, all of these components will be brought to life on the trail in the last part of the day.

– Large Drops: Here in NWA it’s “Drop the Hammer!” Each trail has their own marquis drop just waiting to be tamed. The technique doesn’t change, but the nuance does. Rider technique will be broken down using 240 FPS video and instant feedback will help you instantly see improvements.

– JUMPS JUMPS JUMPS! The biggest request we get is for jump training. Well, here you go! A solid 90 minutes will be spent on this one area in our Groundschool. Using our implements, we will progress riders through various iterations of jump technique: 1) Basic 2) Boosting 3) Low and fast(AKA Scrubbing) 4) Whip it GOOD!

Again, the use of 240 FPS video will really help drive home the technique and get you busting bigger than you ever thought possible.

– Taking it to the Trail! After extensive use of The Ride Series Grounschool setup, the group will roll over to the newly built Rock Solid lines at Slaughter Pen for some hardcore sessioning! This is where the rubber meets the road…or the dirt in this case. Can you take what you just learned and apply it here?? That’s what coach Rob and coach Rich are there to make happen! With a 5 to 1 rider/coach ratio, you’ll get a ton of feedback and even more time with the slo-mo video analysis.

Are you sold? Well, you better be sure you’re ready for this one. Since there’s no empirical rating system, it’s up to you to be certain that you are truly at an Intermediate Level. We are all for people putting it out there and wanting to better themselves, but this class will be taught to the level that we deem to be INTERMEDIATE. That means that if you find yourself in over your head, you will be advised to be a spectator for certain elements. At the end of the day, our job is to help you progress AND keep you safe.

How do you know if this course is right for you? Well, you can always reach out and ask us. On top of that, since it’s in Northwest AR, here’s a list of a few obstacles and techniques that we feel you should be somewhat confident with:

1) Drop the Hammer @Coler

2) Fireline @Coler

3) Schroen Train

4) Jumping in General

5) BMX Background

CLASS SIZE IS LIMITED TO 10 AND MUST HAVE 8 RIDERS REGISTERED BY MARCH 12TH FOR EVENT TO TAKE PLACE. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE ISSUED FOR RIDERS WHO’VE SIGNED UP WITHOUT THE PROPER SKILL SET. IF YOU ARE NOT SURE, PLEASE REACH OUT TO US AND ASK. TIME ON THE BIKE DOES NOT DIRECTLY CORRELATE TO SKILL LEVEL.
