Tour de BBQ cycling event benefiting the pregnant and parenting teens sheltered at Compassion House.
The event features 50, 30, and 7-mile bike rides with BBQ Rest/Pit Stops on the Razorback Greenway Trail System. The ride will begin and end at Lewis and Clark in Rogers. The first 250 participants to sign up will be guaranteed a swag bag and t-shirt. Sign up for both Tour de BBQ and Tour de Tacos and receive $10 off your overall registration.
Prizes will be given to the individual and the team to raise the most money to support these young pregnant and parenting teens and their babies living at Compassion House.
Helmets are required to ride. COVID protocols will be in place with staggered start times of groups over the max. allotment to ensure health safety. Masks must be worn at check-in and in areas of groups congregating of more than 8. Masks are not mandatory during rides. Early packet pickup will be available June 3rd, 4-6 pm at Lewis and Clark in Rogers.
The finish line will host a BBQ Grill-off event (backyard series) – separate registration fee – up to 10 teams will compete for the People’s Choice Award and be given a pork butt to grill/smoke/prepare any way they see fit. Cyclists will be able to go through and vote on their favorite competitor. Spectators can also buy an armband to taste test and cast their vote to join in the fun. Grill-off competitors will have 3 categories of – pork butts, side dish, and dessert – all will be decided on by People’s Choice. Prizes will be given to top 3 contestants.
