April 1st, 2023 we’ll gather together at Hazel Valley Ranch in Fayetteville and head out for some beautiful miles on NWA gravel. Expect routes of 45 and 64 miles in the Ozark National Forest. Afterward we’ll convene back together at the ranch for Bike Rack Brewery beer, food from our friends Devin Cole and Chamois Butt’r with stories shared by the fire.
NEW for 2023: This will be a timed event. Podiums at the after-party!
Two routes to choose from: 63.3 miles + 7,566 ft of elevation gain AND
44.52 miles + 4,285 ft of elevation gain
Please note: The courses will NOT be marked. The routes will be sent the week of the race. You must have a GPS computer or directions written down to navigate.
Aid Stations: The Meteor Cafe and OZ Cycling Tours will head up aid stations on the course. A SAG vehicle will also be provided by OZ Cycling Tours.
No refunds but you can transfer by MARCH 10th, 2023. In the event that the Hazel Vally Rally 2023 cannot occur due to unforeseen circumstances, you can defer to 2024 or receive a 50% refund.

A packed week of racing, kicking off with UCI Elite men/women, U23 Men/Women, and JR men/women C1 event on Wednesday. Thursday is an official training and pre-ride day before we jump into short track racing on Friday. We have inscripted Friday’s UCI short track for the elites, and we will offer short track for amateurs as well.
Saturday is a UCI Hors Category classification for all UCI categories and is a JR. XCO series designated race.
We finish off the week of racing on Sunday, April 16th with amateur cross-country categories.
Note, there is NO ONSITE day of race registration. If you show up to register on the day of your event, you will be out of luck. U.C.I. categories require a valid UCI license. One-day USAC licenses are available for CAT 2/3 categories for $15.
We will close entries for UCI and USAC CAT 1 15-16 JR Men/Women @ 7 pm CST two days prior to the event’s race date to allow for call up’s to be posted and reviewed (ex. Sat UCI races registration closes Thursday). It is your responsibility to notify scoring if your ranking is incorrect. We will not be making changes on the start line.
For all other amateur categories, we will close online registrations @ 7 pm CST the day prior to the race event date.
Categories: CAT 1-Expert level of fitness/skill with several seasons of racing experience, race target time of 1hr 15 min-1hr 30 min for the winners.
CAT 2-Intermediate/Novice level of fitness/skill, a race season or two of experience, race target time 1hr-1hr 15 min for the winners.
CAT 3-Beginner level of fitness/skill, first time or a handful of race experience, race target time 30min-45 min for the winners. If you are looking for more time or more laps, race CAT 2. We want CAT 3 to be a true first-timer or beginner race experience. There is nothing we are giving away worth sandbagging this class for.

Location: Centennial Park is in the heart of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and is located freeway friendly just off MLK Blvd and the 49. There are tons of great trails and the city is very bicycle friendly. We recommend spending an extra day exploring the area if you have the time. Map Link

The Iron Pig Time Trial is part of a four-event festival which is comprised of a duathlon, 5K run, 1 mile fun run and the time trial. The time trial course is an out and back course on flat to slightly rolling terrain. A great early season test.
This year’s event will include a post-event food and beverages festival. Non-participating friends and family will have the option to purchase food and drinks.

2023 – USAT National Championships for Off-Road Triathlon, Off-Road Duathlon, Gravel Triathlon and Gravel Duathlon to be held on the same three-day weekend as the oldest road triathlon in NW Arkansas.
Friday, June 2 will be the Gravel Triathlon & Gravel Duathlon National Championships. Saturday, June 3 will contest both the Off-Road Triathlon and Off-Road Duathlon National Championships of which both will be Team USA world qualifiers. Both triathlon events will involve Olympic-distance events consisting of approximately 1.5K swim, 30K bike and 10K runs. The Off-Road & Gravel Duathlon National Championship course will be a 5K run, 30K bike, 10K run.
On Sunday, June 4 the Ozark Valley Triathlon is hosting the 2023 Arkansas State Championships in the international, sprint distances as well as the Arkansas High School State Championship. These are both road triathlon races and there will be a Aquabike, duathlon and team categories in the Ozark Valley Triathlon.
All of these events will be held at Lake Wedington Recreation Area. Lake Wedington is located 13 miles west of Fayetteville and is one of the most natural settings for a triathlon in the region. Both spectators and participants can enjoy the natural beauty of the area and combined with unique finisher medals, post-race food, awards and prizes all make this race one that people do not want to miss.
Challenge Options (duathlon or triathlon):
Swim portion can be in a pool or other body of water. You can also substitute another activity of your choice – bike, walk, run, paddle, drink wine, etc. These activities can be complete anywhere, on a single day or over multiple days. Be as creative as you wish! Challenge yourself! Never thought you could do a triathlon? Here’s your chance! Your own way, your pace, your distance and course! We believe in you!
Entry Fees are priced with a ringspun cotton t-shirt. But, there is an option to choose no shirt and save $5 or upgrade to a fully sublimated technical fabric shirt for $15. Shirt size not guaranteed after May 22, 2023. If a shirt is ordered and the size is not available then a refund will be issued at packet pickup.
